I wake up in the morning with a vague recollection
of arms once wrapped 'round my waist
I roll over slowly and gaze at the wall
brush it off, and get on with my day
I walk down the stairs, grind up the coffee
let it brew, while I try to grasp
at the feeling that lingers from whatever I was dreaming
then I throw away the grounds and it all rushes back

there are things I come across in my day-to-day living
